Terms of Service

Last updated 2 June 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Safeguard Vision website, the Safeguard Vision WordPress plugin, and any related services and credits (together, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Safeguard Vision provides a WordPress plugin that uses AI to anonymise faces in images, together with supporting website and account features. We may update, improve, or change the Service from time to time.

2. Licence

The plugin is distributed under the GNU General Public License (GPL), consistent with WordPress plugin requirements. Your use of any associated hosted features, credits, and website is governed by these Terms.

3. Free demo and credits

The Service includes a free allowance of anonymisations. Additional capacity is available by purchasing one-off packs of image credits. Credits are purchased inside the plugin, do not expire, and are not a subscription. Prices are shown at the point of purchase.

4. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • ensuring you have a lawful basis and any necessary consents to process the images you submit to the Service;
  • complying with applicable data-protection and safeguarding laws, including the UK GDPR;
  • keeping your account credentials and licence keys secure; and
  • using the Service only for lawful purposes and not in any way that infringes the rights of others.

5. Acceptable use

You must not misuse the Service, including by attempting to disrupt it, reverse-engineer hosted components, circumvent usage limits, or use it to create or distribute unlawful, harmful, or abusive content.

6. Payment and refunds

Payments for credits are processed by Stripe. Except where required by law, credit purchases are non-refundable once delivered. You are responsible for any applicable taxes.

7. Intellectual property

We and our licensors retain all intellectual property rights in the Service, excluding rights in the GPL-licensed plugin code, your images, and your content. You retain all rights in the images and content you process.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that anonymisation will be error-free or suitable for every regulatory or safeguarding requirement. You remain responsible for reviewing outputs before publishing.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Safeguard Vision will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Safeguard Vision harmless from claims arising out of your use of the Service or your breach of these Terms, including claims relating to the images and content you process.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or use the Service unlawfully. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory local law provides otherwise.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
