Privacy Policy

Last updated 2 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Safeguard Vision (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects personal data when you use our website and the Safeguard Vision WordPress plugin (together, the “Service”). We are a UK-based company and act as a data controller for the personal data described below.

1. Who we are

Safeguard Vision is a small company based in the United Kingdom. For any privacy questions, or to exercise your rights, contact us at hello@safeguard-vision.com.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use the Service, we may collect:

  • Contact details — your email address if you sign up for product updates or contact us directly.
  • Account and licence data — information needed to issue and manage your plugin licence and credit balance.
  • Payment information — when you purchase credits, payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card details; we receive only confirmation and limited transaction metadata.
  • Usage and technical data — basic analytics, log data, and cookies needed to operate and improve the website.

3. Images processed by the plugin

The Safeguard Vision plugin anonymises faces in images. By default, image processing runs on your own WordPress hosting, and your images and original files remain under your control on your server. Where you choose to use an optional cloud processing feature, images are transmitted securely for processing and are not used to train our models. We do not retain your images beyond what is necessary to deliver the requested processing.

4. How we use information

We use personal data to:

  • provide, operate, and secure the Service;
  • process purchases and manage your licence and credits;
  • send you service messages and, where you have opted in, product updates;
  • respond to enquiries and provide support; and
  • comply with our legal obligations and enforce our terms.

5. Legal bases (UK GDPR / GDPR)

We rely on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (to provide the Service and process payments); legitimate interests (to operate, secure, and improve the Service); consent (for optional marketing emails and certain cookies); and compliance with legal obligations.

6. Sharing and processors

We share personal data only with service providers who process it on our behalf, including payment processing (Stripe), email delivery, analytics, and hosting. These providers are bound by contractual confidentiality and data-protection obligations. We do not sell your personal data.

7. Data retention

We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above, to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can ask us to delete your data at any time, subject to legal retention requirements.

8. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, email hello@safeguard-vision.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) or your local supervisory authority.

9. International transfers

Where personal data is transferred outside the UK or EEA, we put appropriate safeguards in place, such as standard contractual clauses, to ensure your data remains protected.

10. Cookies

Our website uses essential cookies to function and may use analytics cookies to understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

11. Children's data

The Service is intended for use by organisations and adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children through the website.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the “Last updated” date above.
